So I went to buy headphones so I could listen to what I recorded because the speakers SUCK So this old fashioned wagon wheel isn’t Bluetooth!!!! So best headphones I could find were 50$ Sony with the wire Sounds sooo cheap Tried adjusting the bass it’s just plus minus I can’t reccomend this crap

Hi Julian have you tested the PreSonus 1810c ?...i have bought one, seems fine but i do not know if it is a good 4 mic or 2 mic & 2 instrument interface with a theoretical 18 inputs & 10 outputs, 2 headphone inpits with own volume pots, is it alright to use Quad cable from interface to active monitors, PreSonus Eris8 XT's with class A/B analogue internal amps...any advice or knowledge you could tell me about the 1810c would be appreciated....thank you...

bro, imagine a camera operator with a lot of stuffs to control, snario, direction photography, actors/models, and still have to think about the audio, I dont want to check if the file on the set if going well, I just want get the audio and make it works on the pos production, so, it's a game changer for run & gunprofessionals for sure

It would have been nice it you had mentioned the soundchips on these motherboards. Because some you will only see in high end motherboards.

Spent over 10 years with Focusrite technical support and their engineers. Couldn't make their interfaces stable - random system freezes (Kernel debug dump always showed death inside Focusrite driver). Switched to MOTU, and all my Audio Workstations have been 100% rock-solid 24/7 for a year now.

Hey Julian, brilliant as always! Are you going to test the new PreSonus ES range??

It does provide better audio for recording. Have been disappointed with mine. Had to buy it because my 8i6 died. Don't like that they took away the power switch. For me, the audio output clips at much lower volumes so I've had to reduce levels and crank the monitors to get the volume back. Ended up having to buy higher watt monitors.

Thanks for this. I was looking to replace my DR-40 because it has a few issues and I just tested the noise level and it sounds pretty much like you just showed! So I'll keep looking. I may check to see if you have any reviews on good handhelds.

Yeah, did they at least fix the stuttering issues when using Focusrite official drivers on Win11?

I feel like the most useful place for 32bit float is in recorders and run and gun situations. One man crews for instance. Where you might not always have the ability to control levels in real time and have to set-and-forget. Or in situations where there's big differences in levels (think of meeting or whatever with speakers at all sorts of different levels) where you want to normalize the levels.

when i record radio ads at the radio station the 'lawo ruby' listens for the first ten seconds and sets the perfect volume for my voice or anyones voice.

virtually ALL new interfaces are pretty damn good. Buy a 500 chassis and a real preamp, then use a cheap interface as advertised here as a converter. now you're really playing ball ...

Honestly I bought the Apple usb c to 3.5 to record with a Rode mic. It came out so noisy. I didn’t like it. I used it on two different android phones. I’m sure it’ll sound like perfection on a usb c apple phone but for androids it totally sucked.

No one on UA-cam has a proper EQ video it’s sad and hilarious it’s always the same BS info, this advice tho on the other hand is smarter.
